It was like getting caught taking your dad's Corvette out for a quick spin and getting into a fender bender as you are pulling into the driveway. Watching Phil Hughes and trying to comprehend what was going on was impossible. I was trying to remember what I was like in my 20's and if I could have been capable of pitching in a major league game....um...I wasn't capable of tying my own shoes! This kid is a phenom ! He was striking guys out left and right and making it look easy. No offense to the Rangers, they'd been no hit this year already (I thought the Yankees had it rough) but then on that fateful pitch in the 7th inning.....the Baseball God's giveth and then taketh away. What did we do to deserve this??

A month to a month and a half won't be that bad without Hughes in the rotation, it was just so much fun to watch him pitch last night and feel so excited for him as he was not only pitching his 2nd professional game, but throwing a no hitter no less????!?!?!?! I hope these 4 to 6 weeks go fast, I can't wait to see him pitch again!!!

In the meantime it was nice to see the Yankees offense wake up from their snore fest. Bobby Abreau is still a little groggy, someone get him a Red Bull or something!
